Job Description:
Our client is a fourth-generation manufacturer of Fats, Oils,
Shortenings, Dressings and Sauces. With global distribution, they
are highly recognized for its' dedication to customer service. We
have been retained to find a Safety Manager who will work with
department heads to implement policies and procedures for a safe
and healthy workplace!Summary:Work alongside our SQF, HR,
Maintenance and Owners to identify safety and health risks in all
facilities.Assist with training employees in each department to
ensure to ensure knowledge of procedures.Coordinate safety
committee meetings and maintain safety meeting minutes.Implement
emergency procedures and conduct risk mitigation training and
drills to ensure the safety of our employees and processes.Maintain
detailed and up to date inspection recordsMaintain detailed and up
to date OSHA logCoordinate the reporting process of accidents or
incidents in the facility for workers compensation
reporting.Responsibilities: Running the safety and health
management programPerforming industrial hygiene activities or
working with industrial hygienistsPerforming job hazard
analysesPerforming incident investigationsHelping run safety
committeesEnsuring that environmental, health, and safety training
is deliveredEnsuring EHS regulatory compliancePerforming worksite
walkthroughs and safety observationsImplementing controls for
identified hazards, often by using the hierarchy of
controlsPerforming risk management dutiesGathering and analyzing
EHS leading and lagging indicatorsHelping to improve human and
operational performanceEnsuring safe SOP's are in place and being
followed on a daily basis through initial and reoccurring training
schedulesProper equipment is in place and being used by approved
personnelWork with internal partners to create and maintain a
non-hazardous work environmentEnsuring electrical panels like
outlets, boxes, switches, panels etc. are properly organized and
neat, free from unnecessary flammable hazard.Working with
maintenance, production, trucking, warehouse department to ensure
proper PM schedules are being followed on equipment, FL's, trucks,
racking, pumps/motors etc.Maintaining proper record of and
placement of all business equipmentSafely removing and/or storing
all equipment that is no longer needed for business purposes.Work
with team members to interview, select, and work in collaboration
with third-party safety consultants when needed. (I.e. ammonia
system training, forklift certification and training, trucking
safety meetings etc.)Required:Three to Five years of experience in
a manufacturing facility (food manufacturing experience a
plus)Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis in the Safety
and Health fieldAttention to detail with excellent organizational
skillsKnowledge of required OSHA record keeping for manufacturing
facilityExceptional written and oral communication skillsProficient
with all Microsoft tools, i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel,
PowerPointExperience with all inspection equipment and reporting
toolsAbility to influence decisions to ensure the safety and health
of our employees and facilitiesAble to conduct inspections and
carry inspection type equipmentOccasional standing, bending and
sitting
