Job DescriptionOverview: Student employee will be cross-trained
in the multi-functional areas of the Auxiliary Services department
consisting of Bookstore, Copy Center and Receiving. This position
is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable
experience in the operations of different business units.Campus
Location:Des Plaines & SkokieLength of Employment:1 academic year
with option to renewCan a student do homework in this
position?SometimesHours available:10-20 hours/week, (10-30
hours/week in the summer)Schedule Flexibility:Weekly schedule is
fixed, set according to class schedule. Some flexibility allowed as
long as business needs are met.Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
and Learning Outcomes: - Office duties such as filing, answering
phones, data entry, scanning documents. (CD, TC)- Provide excellent
customer service, answer phones, and respond to customer inquiries.
(CM,PF)- Assist Auxiliary Service managers and provide input with
the preparation and execution of department project and events.
(CD, LD)- Maintain store merchandising standards and projects
independently with minimal supervision while still providing
excellent customer service. (CT, LD)- Interact with all departments
and levels of leadership through bookstore customer service and
delivering mail. (PF, CD)- Collaborate with all auxiliary staff
members and other student employees in receiving and copy center,
bookstore and auxiliary services. (TW, CD)- Operate production
copiers efficiently and accurately. (TC)- Follow all department
digital first procedures using Google drive, email and scanning.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities): - Must be
enrolled at Oakton Community College in at least 6 credit hours
during the fall and spring semesters. Employed over the summer is
allowed for students taking at least 1 credit class during the
summer, or students continuing registration into the following fall
semester.- Must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good
standing at Oakton Community College.- Ability to learn and operate
cash registers.- Ability to learn and operate mass production
copiers.- Ability to communicate clearly by phone, in-person and
email.- Basic computer knowledge such as email, Microsoft Word,
Excel, Google docs, or ability to learn.- Strong attention to
detail and accuracy.- Ability to maintain positive attitude when
working with customers and staff.- Some work during semester breaks
and spring break may be required to conduct inventories and prepare
for the semester starts.- Maintain an organized work environment.-
Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
