Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott's diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.Abbott Molecular Our Des Plaines, IL site has an opportunity for a Distribution Supervisor, Who would be responsible gather and prepare trend information and recommend areas of focus.Assist in the preparation of the financial plan, gather financial and other data to support the plan.Assist in the development of the capital plan by identifying projects to improve processes, reduce costs, and maintain operations.WHAT YOU'LL DO:* Provide technical expertise and guidance.* Understand detailed area operations (function specific).* Regularly makes decisions which impact quality, time or cost, timely decisions are required regarding issues such as to pro or abort, work OT, etc.. * Manages assigned projects, work cross functionally to identify changes and necessary resources.* Develop and recommend departmental reward and recognition programs.* Assist employees in the creation of development plans, work with employees to meet their development needs.* Communicate work center/department objectives and results.* Uses time effectively, both for self and others, identifies appropriate meeting participants and uses meetings effectively.* Coach teams, provide guidance, direction, training, resources, and time.* Direct supervision of workforce.* Create a climate of trust and respect within the group . Exchanges information with employees, peers, and management--regarding operations.* Conducts individual discussions with employees, including performance reviews, and development, discipline, and staffing iinterviews.* Interact with peers in operations and within other cross-functional groups.* Responds directly to on- site requests for information from internal and external regulatory agencies.* Plans Activity Structure: * Makes plans to accomplish assigned activities and projects, establishes priorities so as to handle* competing demands, optimizes use of available resources, estimates time and resources necessary to complete tasks or* projects, establishes follow up systems.Tracks and reviews daily indices (e.g., line outputs, labor efficiency, reject rates) and regulatory requirementsto identity gaps between current and desired performance, applies standard problem solving tools (e.g., fishbonediagrams, Pareto analysis), recommends and implements corrective action so that the impact of the problem isminimized, interfaces with other areas to identify and solve problems.* Interprets Data and Information:Collects, analyzes, and transmits financial and technical data and information, forecasts futureperformance based on history and environmental changes, assesses impact of decisions and actions on own and other areas ofthe organization, Staffs Positions: Recruits, interviews, and selects candidates to fill current position openings., Utilizes* Financial Information: Makes day-to-day decisions which demonstrate a basic understanding of the financial business drivers(e.g., ROl, factory costs, cost reductions) and their inter-relationships.* Adapts Information to Customer Needs: Adjusts communication style and medium (oral, written, or electronic) to meet theneeds of the receiver (direct reports, peers, customers, managers),delivers only important information, uses appropriate level oflanguage and detail for the receiver.* Exchanges Information: Shares information with appropriate timeliness, accuracy, and frequency so as to meet the needs of thereceiver, distributes background information prior to meetings and conferences, allows adequate response time when makingrequests and promptly responds to requests for information, keeps parties potentially affected by decisions apprised of events.* Listens Actively: Receives and interprets both verbal and non-verbal messages, confirms understanding of message beforeresponding, asks for help and ideas when appropriate.* Motivates Others: Promotes productivity and morale by treating others with respect and dignity, listening to different points ofview, taking ownership and responsibility for own actions, displaying consistency between words and actions, following throughon commitments, being available to answer questions, providing positive feedback on individual and team accomplishments andproviding and receiving developmental feedback in a timely and and carries out responsibilities in line with functional priorities.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING Required* Bachelor's degree or equivalent operations experience. 3-5 years in Supply Chain, Distribution or Operations.* Experience may include manufacturing or distribution environment; knowledge of materials and inventory computer systems; Fork-lift* certifications required Experience with
