Job Description:
Company summary: Traffic Safety Warehouse (TSW) is a
fast-growing, e-commerce based, business-to-business distributor of
traffic safety products to municipalities, construction companies,
and a variety of businesses and organizations throughout the United
States. Our product line includes traffic cones, barricades,
delineators, rubber speed control products, traffic wands, LED
safety products, and a wide range of traffic safety, construction,
and retail signs and stands.
Position Summary: The Customer Service Representative is a
customer-focused individual serving a critical role within our
small team of traffic safety experts. S/he provides consultative
customer service and sales support to end-buyers throughout the
purchase journey from inquiry to order and beyond.
This position will be either in-office or hybrid, with 2-3 days per
week in our Des Plaines, IL office.
Essential Duties:
Receive and successfully process inbound Customer Service phone
calls and emails.
Prepare quotes for new and existing customers. Enter phone orders.
Set-up new customers.
Secure freight quotes and/or approval for credit terms for
customers.
Follow-up on customer inquiries, quote requests, and order status
tracking to ensure orders are secured and customer service issues
are proactively resolved.
Prioritize order entry, back-orders, and web inventory needs, and
ensuring back-orders are ready to process prior to incoming stock
arrival.
Working in a small team, additional duties may include:
Reengaging past customers via phone and email to generate
incremental orders.
Updating pricing, costs, product copy, and imagery in database and
on website.
Miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Requirements: The ideal candidate understands that creating the
best possible experience for the customer builds loyalty to our
brand. S/he loves working with customers on quotes and orders and
is also skilled at uncovering customer needs and matching them to
product solutions. Candidate will also be comfortable interacting
with both the end-customer and internal colleagues to resolve
customer service issues. Individual must be able to work both
independently and in a small team environment.
Position Requirements:
Customer service experience in a high call-volume
business-to-business environment, preferably with an E-Commerce
based company. Phone sales experience a plus.
Knowledge of LTL freight and logistics, especially for shipping
large, bulky products. Experience shipping throughout North America
a plus.
Knowledge of manufacturing, construction, industrial safety
products and/or traffic safety is a plus.
Superior computer skills with an excellent grasp of Microsoft
Outlook, Word & Excel.
Ability to use sound judgement, a quick learner, and a
self-starter.
Superior communication, listening, organization, and customer
relations skills.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Organized and ability to prioritize your workload.
Basic retail math skills.
