Consider This Role: The role of the therapy intern is perfect for
the graduate student looking to gain real world experience with
clients in a private practice setting. The intern will be expected
to perform individual, couples, or family therapy, with close
supervision. This includes conducting diagnostic assessments to
formulate DSM-5 diagnoses, developing and completing treatment
plans to support therapeutic interventions, and appropriately
documenting work with clients. The candidate must be within good
standing at their current place of enrollment. Please note: This
application is for our Fall2026cohort. What Youll Do: Represent
Counseling Works with warmth and professionalism Support a positive
client experience at Counseling Works Provide individual, couples,
and/or family psychotherapy - in-person at one or more of our
locations Complete electronic notes and current treatment plans in
a timely fashion Formulate DSM-5 diagnoses Participate in
individual and group supervision with assigned supervisor, no less
than 1 hour per week Schedule & re-schedule clients for
psychotherapy sessions with you Manage client emergencies with
support from your supervisor Consult with other providers,
psychiatrists and family members when appropriate Continue to learn
and grow to gain clinical expertise and skills Maintain general
tidiness of the office you are using and the common areas What

Comfortable and well decorated office space Education & Experience
Requirements: Current enrollment and good standing in a graduate
level program for mental health counseling, psychology, or a
related field (CACREP preferred) Willing to work weekends and
evenings Proficient computer skillswe use Google Docs &
TherapyNotes Organized, professional, conscientious, timely and
responsible. License/ Certifications: Working towards completion of
MA, MEd or MS (CACREP program preferred) Enrollment in an
