The Sr. Director, Project Management provides the leadership and
management necessary to oversee project management (the "function")

will be based in the Chicagoland area at the GTI Energy
Headquarters. We offer a hybrid/core work week, where employees are
remote Mondays and Fridays, and required to be on-site Tuesday
through Thursday. Travel International and domestic travel may be
required. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has overall
supervisory responsibility for personnel within the project
management function. Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the leaders of the business areas and other
functions and other senior management to determine appropriate
competencies, and staffing, utilization, and expense levels for the
function, throughout the fiscal year.
- Provide management to maintain sufficient and diverse personnel
with necessary capabilities to manage projects of the various
supported business areas and who are utilized consistent with
corporate financial objectives.
- Using standard, PMI-based best practices, establish, maintain,
and enforce suitable policies, procedures, practices, and tools to
support sound, efficient and timely, and cost-effective management
of projects as determined by the businesses.
- Lead, motivate, and maintain a high achieving management team;
manage the performance and development of, and comprehensively
assess, members of this team and ensure that they are managing the
development and performance of, and comprehensively assessing,
personnel reporting to them.
- Provide sound functional leadership and foster development of
relevant expertise within, and transfer among, perso
- Implement and maintain timely and effective two-way
communication and reporting within the function and with business
and function leaders and senior management.
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable, flexible, and positive
environment within the function.
- Behave, and enforce behaviors within the function, that are

- Perform other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills,
Abilities, and Other Characteristics
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management, including
deploying standardized project management best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy standardized
policies, best practices, and guidelines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project or equivalent project management
software.
- Demonstrated competency in resource and financial planning and
analysis.
- Demonstrated competency managing project management
personnel.
- Skilled in organizational development and personnel
management.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to
collaborate with a dynamic leadership team.
- Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and
commitment to company's mission.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including
writing technical proposals, reports, and presentations.
- Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous,
fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and
solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and
guiding investment in people and systems. Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in technical field required; graduate degree
in business or technical field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of managing personnel performing project
management.
- Possess Project Management Professional (PMP)
certification.
- Experience managing complex multi-year projects.
- Experience managing research and energy projects
preferred.
- Experience simultaneously overseeing portfolios containing
high-volume low-value and low-volume, high-value projects
desirable.
- Experience with MS Project Web App desirable. EEO Statement GTI
