AccentCare is seeking an Executive Director to join our team of
professionals. We make a difference every day to patients and
families coping with end of life illness in creating a center of
excellence in hospice care.
Overview
This position contributes to AccentCare's mission of 'Honoring Life
and Offering Hope' by coordinating and administering the overall
Hospice program, including service delivery to meet patient needs,
developing and maintain a quality focused culture, business
expansion to support growth, regulatory compliance with all
applicable agencies and financial performance.
Positions Over Which Supervisory Responsibility is Held: Associate
Executive Director, Clinical Liaison, Clinical Liaison-VIPC,
Community Educator, Director-Admissions, Director-Business
Development, Hospice Care Consultant, Sr Director-Business
Development, Sr Director-Clinical Operations, Sr Medical
Director-Medical Operations and VP-Foundation Operations
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree in nursing or human services, preferred2.
Equivalent professional licensure, in lieu of Bachelor's degree3.
5+ years management experience, in a healthcare setting preferred4.
Demonstrated leadership in past achievements and/or previous work
experience5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills6.
Working knowledge of computer programs, especially Microsoft Office
Suite products and EMR systems7. Meet the regulations and
requirements of the state in which the program provides services:
a. CA: The administrator shall have supervisory or administrative
experience in hospice or related healthcare fields or education in
healthcare of administration that meet the requirements or the
positions b. CO: The administrator shall have training and
experience in business or health service administration and at
least two years of supervisory or administrative experience in
hospice care or closely related health care services c. CT: The
administrator shall have either: --- A master's degree in social
work and at least one year of supervisory or administrative
experience in a hospice or home health agency; or --- A master's
degree in nursing with an active license to practice in CT and at
least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in a
hospice or home health agency; or --- A master's degree in public
health or administration with a concentration in health services
administration and at least one year of supervisory or
administrative experience in a hospice or home health agency; or
--- A baccalaureate degree in nursing with an active license to
practice in CT and at least two years of supervisory or
administrative experience in a hospice or home health agency; or
--- A baccalaureate degree in administration with a concentration
of study in health services administration with a concentration of
study in health services administration and at least two years of
supervisory or administrative experience in a hospice or home
health agency; or --- A physician licensed to practice medicine and
surgery in CT who has at least one year of supervisory or
administrative experience in a hospice or home health agency d. GA:
The administrator shall be either: --- A healthcare professional
licensed to practice in GA who has at least one year of supervisory
or management experience in a hospice setting; or --- An individual
with education, training, and experience in health service
administration with at least two years of supervisory or management
experience in a hospice setting e. MA: The administrator shall be a
person who has a minimum of two years of relevant experience in the
health care, human services or related fields, which shall include
at least one year of supervisory/administrative experience f. NJ:
The administrator shall have either: --- A master's degree in
administration or a health-related field, and at least two years of
supervisory or administrative experience in hospice care or in a
health care setting; or --- A baccalaureate degree in
administration or a health-related field and four years of
supervisory or administrative experience in hospice care of in a
health care setting g. TX: The administrator must either: --- Be a
licensed physician, registered nurse, licensed social worker,
licensed therapist, or licensed nursing home administrator with at
least one year of management or supervisory experience in a
health-related setting (e.g., a hospice, nursing facility,
hospital); or --- Have a high school diploma or a GED with at least
two years of management or supervisory experience in a
health-related setting (e.g., a hospice, nursing facility,
hospital)
8. Initial Education a. If designated as an administrator or an
alternate administrator for the first time after December 1, 2006,
the administrator must: --- Prior to designation, complete 8 clock
hours of educational training in the administration of an agency.
The initial 8 hours must be completed during the 12 months
immediately preceding the date of designation to the position. The
8 hours must include: o Information on the licensing standards for
an agency; and o Information on the state and federal laws
applicable to an agency including the Texas Health and Safety Code
regarding home and community support services and nurse aide
registry and criminal history checks; the ADA; the Civil Rights
Act; the Rehabilitation Act; the FMLA; and OSHA. --- Complete a
total of 24 clock hours of educational training in the
administration of an agency before the end of the first 12 months
after designation to the position --- Complete an additional 16
clock hours of educational training before the end of the first 12
months after designation to the position. Any of the additional 16
hours may be completed prior to designation if completed during the
12 months immediately preceding the date of designation. The 16
hours must include information regarding fraud and abuse detection
and prevention; legal issues regarding advance directives; client
rights, including the right to confidentiality; agency
responsibilities; complaint investigation and resolution; emergency
preparedness planning and implementation; abuse, neglect, and
exploitation; infection control; and nutrition. --- Subject matter
that deals with the internal affairs of an organization does not
qualify for credit. Documentation of education must be on file at
the agency, contain the name of the class or workshop, the topics
covered, and the hours and dates of the training.9. Continuing
Education a. The administrator and alternate administrator must
complete 12 clock hours of continuing education within each
12-month period beginning on the date of designation.10. Commitment
