Job Description Job Description Description: Job Title: Assembler (Booster Pump) Location: AY Pump Facility – 1809 Adel Street, Janesville, WI Division: Baker Water Systems – AY Pump Product Line Reports To: Production Supervisor Position Summary: The Booster Assembler is responsible for the mechanical and limited electrical assembly of packaged booster pump systems ranging from residential to light commercial applications. This role involves working from blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions to build high-quality water boosters that align with AY McDonald Pump product specifications. Key Responsibilities: - Assemble water booster systems including pumps, motors, piping, valves, controls, and base skids. - Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate builds. - Perform basic wiring and setup of control panels and VFDs (variable frequency drives) as required. - Conduct pressure testing, alignment, and quality checks to ensure functionality and safety compliance. - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. - Identify and communicate any discrepancies or quality issues to the Production Supervisor. - Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to support process improvements and new product introductions. - Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely and effectively. - Complete production documentation and update assembly records accurately. Required Qualifications: - 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, plumbing, or pump system installation preferred. - Familiarity with water systems, pumps, valves, and associated controls a plus. - Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams. - Comfortable working with basic hand and power tools. - High school diploma or GED. - Basic electrical knowledge is a strong plus. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. - Standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods - Moderate to loud environment - Physically demanding job - Use of PPE and adherence to all safety standards in a production environment.
