Job Description:
CarMax, a leading retailer in the used vehicle industry with
over 200 stores nationwide, seeks a skilled Auto Mechanic to join
our team. This position involves maintaining and repairing a
diverse range of used vehicles, ensuring all cars meet our
high-quality standards before sale. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in automotive repair and a keen commitment to
precision and efficiency. At CarMax, you will be working in a

operations. A commitment to ethical service and unparalleled

a trustworthy car buying and selling experience. Perform work
specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in
accordance with dealership standards. Diagnose and repair vehicle
automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical,
steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. Explain
mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner
to service advisors and customers. Conduct extensive preventive
maintenance to avoid future problems. Offering advice on vehicle
maintenance and upkeep. Maintain a working knowledge of current
industry best practices in automotive repair. Conduct road tests to
confirm a problem or confirm that a problem has been solved.
Expertise in diagnostic software and tools used for car repair and
maintenance. Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills. Good customer service skills, able
to explain complex technical issues to non-technical people. Robust
attention to detail. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance 401k
Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service
Excellence (ASE) required.
