to help us make the future?Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
(pipe stress) working in Quality Engineering that acts as an
authoritative
knowledge source related to detail designers, conducts, and
coordinates a broad
range of complex professional development, design, technology,
manufacturing,
or quality assignments requiring knowledge of advanced techniques
and their
application to specific projects. Works under administrative
direction only
with considerable latitude for reviewing actions or making
decisions.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- 7-10 years' pipe stress experience in the refining,
petrochemical or power generation industries with, Piping design,
Pipe support design, Pipe stress analysis & selection of spring
hangers, expansion joints, & other "engineered" supports.
- Working with piping engineers and designers, providing
guidance, mentorship, and technical support. Monitor progress and
ensure timely delivery of quality stress engineering
deliverables.
- Expertise with the application of industry codes and standards
such as B31.3, B31.1, BPVC, EJMA, API 570, 571, 610 and
others.
- Experience with field troubleshooting, repairs and site
walk-downs experience.
- Identify different stress packages through review of P&IDs
/ Line List
- Expertise with the commercial software CAESAR II
- Resolve high pipe loads on equipment nozzles and perform flange
leakage analysis when needed.
- Prepare requisitions for various piping components such as
Expansion joint, Spring supports and review vendor quotations.
- Review and approve pipe stress analyses and support designs
from third parties, verifying input parameters and output including
weight, pressure, temperature, displacements, SIFs and verify
satisfactory outputs.
- Experience in Stressing Jacketed Piping Systems, Vibrating /
Pulsating Pipework (Connected to Reciprocating Machinery),
- Expansion joints, variable and constant spring supports,
pressure Relief Pipework & Supporting thereof.
- Experience with Fatigue Analysis. Wind Loading / Seismic
Calculations, etc.
- Possess knowledge of piping engineering principles, materials
in general, equipment, and construction techniques. Stay updated
with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in
piping design and engineering.
- Prepare Piping Line List, review all P&IDs and isometric
drawings for conformance to the stress reports.
- Inspect piping components such as spring supports at vendor's
premises, or fabrication shops and prepare associated inspection
report and release notes. Attend kickoff meetings with
suppliers.
- Ability to engage customers with high technical sophistication
and drive customer's choices based on sound technical
arguments.
- Speaks, writes, and presents at the highest level of
effectiveness and professionalism with diverse audiences YOU MUST
HAVE
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical
Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer, or related engineering
discipline
- 10 or more years of relevant experience in engineering or
related technical activities.WE VALUE

- Ability to interact effectively and tactfully with all levels
of management and outside customers highly desired
- Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, and/or Lean
certification
- Experience to leverage technical writing skills to produce high
quality presentation content providing results and / or project
status to
- Ability to provide technical guidance, product assurance
techniques, consultative services, and innovative solutions
- Ability to apply advanced design, development, evaluation, and
quality control techniques to highly complex engineering concepts
