UOP R&D Materials Characterization has exciting opportunity for a R&D Engineer Scientist II position with a thorough understanding of analytical chemistry matched with
skills in elemental analysisThis R&D Engineer Scientist II position would work within a team of scientists utilizing inductively
coupled plasma spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy systems along with other
staff to support elemental (catalysts, adsorbents, gas, oil, unknown and
petrochemicals) analysis needs. Must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment to
manage multiple, complex, and competing projects. Responsible
for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable
regulatory requirements; conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and
documentation.Familiarity with
ICP as well other analytical techniques is required. The candidate must be able
to assimilate information from a variety of analytical techniques, such as, ICP
and ICP-MS to generate insights and critical information to support analyses.
Direct experience in operating ICP and ICPMS instruments and data
interpretation is required. KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares samples for Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) analysis using hot plates, microwaves (digestion etc.)
  • Analyzes samples using Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) and Inductively coupled plasma-Mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and reports data.
  • Develop and validates procedures and methods for new sample types or sample matrices.
  • Conducts data quality check's, prepares summary reports.YOU MUST HAVE
    • Bachelor of Science Degree
    • 2+ years' experience in elemental analysis and spectroscopy
    • Hands on work experience on ICP, ICPMS and microwave digestion systemsWE VALUE
      • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry
      • 2+ years' experience in elemental analysis and spectroscopy
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
      • Able to interpret, organize and prepare concise written reports from analytical data.
      • Familiar with design of experiments and statistical quality control
      • A broad-based knowledge and experience in analytical methodology/development and project management preferred
      • Previous experience in a Research and Development environment desirable
      • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.Additional Information
