exciting opening for a Lead Mechanical Engineer - Technology
Specialist within the Engineering department of UOP Process
Technologies (UPT). Your role will be primarily responsible for
leading the mechanical design and innovation for the Plastics
recycling process technology for Sustainable Technology Solutions
(STS) as well as potentially supporting other STS sustainability or
UPT refining, petrochemical, and gas processing offerings. You will
use your mechanical equipment expertise in static and rotating
equipment, piping, materials handling, structures, etc. to develop
the standard design offering for our plastics pyrolysis recycling
process and support project execution spanning demonstration to
commercial scale processing plants. Key Responsibilities--- Develop
and implement mechanical infrastructure, work processes, and
standard requirements to support the commercialization of
Honeywell's new technology offering for plastics recycling. ---
Work closely with R&D, Process, Business, Sales, project
management, and the packaged equipment specialist to finalize the
technical offering and ensure the quality of its operation. ---
Generate a complete technical definition (specifications,
requisitions, etc.) incorporating applicable code and customer
requirements for plastics pyrolysis section mechanical equipment.
--- Act as the primary liaison to manage the interface with
external equipment suppliers for the plastics pyrolysis section.
--- Review supplier designs against licensor, code, and customer
requirements. --- Participate in customer/supplier kickoff
meetings, critical inspections, and incorporate feedback for
continuous design improvement. --- Coordinate with a
multidiscipline project team including quality assurance, piping,
instrument, electrical, process, designers, purchasing personnel,
and project managers to meet project requirements.--- Troubleshoot
design and field operational issues and drive issue resolution. ---
Provide sales support to review customer requirements and support
generation of cost estimates for plastics pyrolysis equipment. YOU
MUST HAVE---Bachelor's Degree in Engineering ---5+ years of
experience in the Process Industry ---8+ years of overall Industry
experience WE VALUE---Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil
Engineering---10+ years of Process Industry
experience---Significant experience in the design and specification
of one or more of the following equipment types within the
refining, petrochemical, gas processing, or other process industry:
reactors, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, piping, or
structural ---Working knowledge of the ASME codes and similar
mechanical standards---Experience with implementation and
commercialization of new technology offerings---Experience with
plastics recovery and recycling including material handling systems
is a plus---Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively to
prioritize and deliver on several simultaneous internal and
customer projects---Self-motivation with a demonstrated ability to
innovate and improve---Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve
complex problems---Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, develop,
and mentor others---Experience working with diverse, global
teams---Strong verbal and written communication
