language of industry.Job Description Summary:Perform engineering
activities related to freight railcar components, including product
design, testing, analysis, field performance monitoring, sales,
customer, and manufacturing support.Some travel required.Essential
Duties & Responsibilities Product design, including CAD 3D
modelling and 2D drafting / layoutsPerform various engineering
analyses (e.g. stress, fatigue, dynamics, kinematics)Plan and
supervise test programs for research and/or AAR/Customer
approvalsProvide customer technical support, product inspections,
teardownsJob Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong written and
oral communication skillsComputer literacy in MS Office products
Word, Excel and PowerPointKnowledge of structural analysis
techniques, including FEACAD expertise, including knowledge of
standard drafting practices, ability to read and create technical
drawings, and create 3D modelsAdditional beneficial qualifications,
knowledge of:Casting design and foundry practiceForging design and
manufactureWelding and fabricationMachine / mechanism designSteel
and iron metallurgyTest instrumentation and/or data
reductionNon-destructive testing methodsVehicle dynamics
simulationMatlab and/or VBA programmingAssociation of American
Railroads StandardsForeign LanguagesEducation/ExperienceB.S. Degree
in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Civil,
Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace), 0-2 years experienceAll salaried
