Job Description:

Basic Function and Responsibility:

Under general supervision this position will support CE & T programs and services as needed

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

• Compose, type, prepare, and submit routine correspondence, reports, student documents, and memoranda for administrator/faculty/staff member as required.
• Communicate with CET instructors and refer them to appropriate person or place, providing routine information on procedures of course set up.
• Communicate with CET students and refer them to appropriate person or place, providing routine information on procedures of registration and CET course offerings.
• Assist with virtual course sessions. Communicate to students regarding contacts for assistance at the college, assist with admitting students and instructors to classes, etc.
• Organize, maintain and update records, keeping all data for administrator/faculty members current and in good order.
• Provide support services to CET Manager and staff, instructors and coordinate CET needs.
• Serve as liaison between customers/clients and managers as needed. Appropriately assist with inquiries, complaints, adjustments, and reimbursements.
• Advise students of CE & T courses including course information regarding courses taught, eligibility, time, locations and requirements.
• Assist WIOA students as needed with required paperwork to enroll in an Oakton WIOA-Approved Program
• Assist with specific programs. Prepare materials, i.e. course evaluations and other support materials as needed.
  
  
  
  Supervision Received:
  
  General supervision is received from the designated CE & T supervisor, manager, or administrator.
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  
  • General office experience is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Excel and Word), Adobe Acrobat, and Google Drive (e.g., Sheets and Docs) required.
  • Direct experience or extensive awareness of video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Google Meet
  • Beginning database application skill (Microsoft Access preferred) is desired.
  • General office environment. Little or no exposure to adverse working conditions
    
    
    
    
    Additional Information:
    
    20 hours per week: Hourly $22.54
    
    2 schedules available - Please indicate which schedule you are applying for in your cover letter.
    
    Schedules: 1:00pm - 5:00pm or 8:15am - 12:15pm
    
    This position is estimated to last for about 11 months, with the opportunity for it to be extended based on the colleges needs.
