JOB IDENTIFICATIONJob Title: Floor Hockey InstructorGrade: I, Starting Salary $10.00/hrFLSA: Non-ExemptDepartment: RecreationSUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Athletic SupervisorSupervises: N/ABASIC FUNCTIONThe Floor Hockey instructor will demonstrate and instruct the fundamentals of hockey to youth participants ages 7-13.ESSENTIAL DUTIES* Implement lesson plan and drills as planned by the Floor Hockey Instructor.* Demonstrate knowledge of hockey and the ability to assess and assist children's progress.* Maintain equipment provided to participants and ensure it is being used correctly.* Communicate any medical or behavior issues with the Athletic Supervisor/Parents.* Provide First Aid when necessary.* Ensure the safety of all participants throughout all practices and games.OTHER DUTIES* Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual.* Direct participants in the event of an emergency, such as fire, severe weather.* Communicate with Athletic Supervisor regarding any equipment needing repair or replacement.* Additional duties as assigned.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High School student or of higher education.Experience: Must be at least 16 years of age or olderA minimum of 2 years of leadership experienceKnowledgeable of hockey rulesCertifications: CPR and First Aid Certification, Classes available through Park DistrictMust have a valid driver's license._________________________________________________________________ The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by most people assigned to this job.
