Job Description:

The Corporate Financial Reporting Intern will assist the Financial Reporting team with reviewing and updating our underlying accounting information system records to ensure that our global population of leases, totaling more than 5,000 agreements, are appropriately reconciled in a single consolidated system. This is an important task for the Company, with high visibility from senior management up to the Chief Financial Officer. The candidate will work closely will accounting personnel throughout the world, with oversight from the Culligan Corporate financial reporting team. Additional ad hoc tasks will be provided to the individual from the rest of the Financial Reporting team to enhance the individual's knowledge and experience with respect to overall accounting and financial reporting. This individual identifies problems using analytical skills, generating collaborative solutions, is detail oriented and professionally communicates with business leaders across the globe to obtain necessary information.Summer Internship Outline:Lease Accounting:Obtain copies of the formal lease agreements from each business unit and upload them to our lease accounting system to make it easy to retrieve in the future.Compile quarterly lease population review files for distribution to local business units to obtain updated lease data.Update leases in the lease accounting system based on local management edits communicated through the review and ensure thorough updated details are made in the system.Investigate the status of leases in the system where the lease may have expired and require a renewal or disposal.Add a field to document the square footage of a leased office/warehouse space.Update the borrowing rate input within the system to our current rates.Import monthly exchange rates within the system to rates provided by the Consolidations team.Determine the necessary journal entries to update the trial balance with balances from the lease accounting system.Frequently present project status updates to the global accounting team and take ownership of changes to the broader project plan. Financial Reporting:Get exposure to and utilize the Company's financial statement reporting system to prepare the consolidated financial statements for June 30.Collaborate with the Corporate financial reporting team to prepare the June 30 consolidated financial statements and related footnote disclosures.Gather accounting reporting package information prepared and distributed by the global business units and aggregate the data for analysis to be used in the consolidated financial statement process.Participate and present in team meetings with exposure to senior members of the global accounting team on projects and tasks being worked on.Requirements:Junior or Senior working towards a Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in AccountingProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and OutlookUnderstanding databases and logicExperience in an office environment is a plusCompetencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies in this position:Customer Focus Resourcefulness PassionPlanning/Organization Team Player Communication (written & oral)Integrity Adaptability Accountability
