Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Lead will assist the Accounting department and provide leadership in the accounts payable/receivable functions including managing and maintaining accounts, procedures, and policies. The Accounting Lead will also be responsible for overseeing the financial accounting operations of HARIBO, managing financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and other accounting related activities. This position is located at HARIBO of America's corporate headquarters in Rosemont, IL.Why work for HARIBO? Additionally, we offer community involvement opportunities and career growth opportunities.ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.Prepare and analyze financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsCreate journal entries, as necessary, for proper revenue recognition and cost adjustments/allocationsCreate weekly cash reporting for leadership with insights into historical trends and forecasting enhancementsAssist in developing and implementing processes and controls, and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure timely and accurate submission of deliverablesMaintain the integrity of the financial systems and the maintenance of accounts and records in such areas as assets, liabilities, equity, income and expenseLead an efficient month-end closing process, actual, forecast analysis and reconciliations, and general ledger activitiesWork with Accounting Manager to implement several activities to create financial accounting reportsPartner with the organization as well as local and global stakeholdersAnalyze and interpret financial and accounting data to provide guidance for decision makingWorks with Accounting Manager on monthly/quarterly/semi-annually and annually closing &financial reportsEvaluate and document processes and implement process improvementsOther duties as assignedQualificationsMinimumBachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance5+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting or business experience is requiredAbility to train and develop associates within the Accounting team is requiredAbility to partner with people at all levels of the organization is requiredMS Office - Word, Power Point, Access, Excel (intermediate to advanced) is requiredPreferred2+ years of experience in SAP is strongly preferredManufacturing experience is strongly preferredCPG industry experience is strongly preferredExperience in BI and reporting tools (SAP BI is preferred)Master's degree/ MBA, CMA or CPA or other financial certification preferredPrevious audit experience is preferredPrevious management experience is preferredThe Happy World of HARIBO is more than a business; we're family.
